Halloween

This month we have had some fun with Halloween.

We had a party with some friends and had a great time. We all dressed up and had yummy soup and bread sticks and played games. We have great friends!!!

It was nice on the 30th I took the day off to go and see the kids parade at school. The kids went dressed in their Jiujitsu outfits (Gee / Gii ????) then went and did some Christmas shopping - YEAH almost done.

On Halloween we decorated outside to get ready for that night. We all dressed up - Mark was a wolf, I was a pirate and the boys were zombies.

Mark loves to try and scare the kids (only the older ones - he is not allowed to scare the younger ones). This year we have some chains that we put on each side of the swing and made loops in them for his hands and he would sit on the swing with his hands in the chains so he could only go so far. When the kids came up he would shake the chains, growl at them or jump up at them and since he could only go so far the chains would rattle. MAN IT WAS FUNNY!!!! It was fun to hear some of the things the kids would say - we heard one kid across the street say "we are going over to that house". LOL. We of course had the strobe light and fog machine going.

One set of kids came up and said look it is Jacob (from Twilight/New Moon) of course I had to explain to Mark what they meant since he is not a fan. We had some friends come over dressed as a dead bride and groom and I told them the story and said they could be Bella and Edward LOL LOL LOL. That is who is in the pictures with Mark.

I am glad Mark has such a great time at Halloween - he was tired that day so he did not go trick or treating with us so he could save his energy for scaring the kids. It is a great way to start off the Holiday Season.

Update

Not too much is going on to post about but with us I guess that is a good thing. Things have been going well around here since we got Mark out of the Hospital. He is doing good, he still has his good and bad days. He has had a hard time this time getting his energy back.

The kids have been off track all month and I think they are ready to go back to school. I am glad they have had the month off since we started Soccer it has been easier not to have to worry about doing homework while trying to get them to 2 games a week each and practices. They love soccer and I really enjoy going and watching them play.

Justin this month has lost 2 teeth and Jarod has lost 1 so they love to have Tooth Fairy come.

I am sad to have had to say goodbye to the pool but I do love the Fall it is my favorite! Although it is almost time to give up my capri's and sandals - I will wear them as long as I possibly can.

I have decorated for Halloween already and this is one of Mark's favorite Holidays. This is a fun time for us. So if I don't post again until after Halloween I will post some of our pictures. I can't say what Mark is going to be this year cause he dose not want me to tell - he his funny that way. But it is fun to hear him tell me all the ideas he has, that is for decorating the outside of the house and different ways he want to scare the older kids, he is not allowed to scare the little ones. FUN FUN FUN.

Have a good one!!

Again???

Well September has started off a little rough for us. On Wednesday Sept 2nd I went into the office to work and Mark calls me in the morning when he gets up and said he did not feel well, I did not think much of it since he dose not feel well most days, then around noon he called and said his stomach was upset. The kicker was when he called me around 3 and said his heart rate was jumping between 120 and 140 so I told him to call his nurse and let her know what was going on and I told him I was on my way home from work to take him to the Hospital. On the way home I decided I better call him and make sure he was O.K. and I had him stay on the phone with me until I got home just in case anything happened. Got home and got the kids and Mark and headed for the E.R. My parents came and meet us at the E.R and got the kids (they had a soccer clinic that night that they wanted to go to). We got to the E.R. at about 4:45 and surprisingly they took him right back. Of course they did every test they could and one test did show that his white blood count was high so we knew he would end up in the RICU to be observed. Well we were right they got us up to the RICU at about 7:45 so only 3 hrs in the E.R. not bad. Mark wanted me to stay the night with him and I wanted to but I knew if I did not go home and be with the kids they would freak out so I left Mark hoping I would not get a call in the middle of the night. When I got home the kids wanted to sleep with me and under the circumstances I let them so needless to say between my fears and two kids in bed with me I did not get much sleep. When I got back to the Hospital on Thursday Mark said that night they started and IV Antibiotic then ran some more blood tests and they showed that and his white blood count had dropped. Spent the day with him then I had to get back home and get the kids from school and do homework and we were on our way back to the Hospital to get their dad and bring him home, at least that is what we thought. HAHA they ended up having Mark stay one more night to finish off the last of the IV Antibiotics (there were 3 bags). Friday the 4th Mark called me and said COME AND GET ME!!! they were letting him come home. YEAH. They did want to monitor him to see if this would happen again so they sent him home with a King of Hearts monitor which he needs to wear for 2 weeks. The Dr.'s do not know what caused this or what even happened. O.K. can we say FLUKE FAMILY!!!

I want to thank everyone for their concerns, love and prayers. WE LOVE YOU!!

August

Well it has been about a month since I posted last and not much has happened and I guess that is a good thing.

The kids are back in school and doing well. Mark's health is stable - he has his good days and his bad. I am doing O.K. my work has taken away all overtime so I have been able to spend more time with the family this month so that has been a good thing.

Mark and I had our Birthdays this month and we saved some money and with our Birthday money we were able to buy us a grinder - YEAH!!! We have been making our own bread the last few months. I know can you believe it US!!! It will be fun to start using it.

All is well and I will post again soon.

Right Heart Cath / Radio

Well Mark had his Right Heart Cath done on Friday July 10th and all went well.

We went to the Hospital (IMC) at 8:00 and his procedure was supposed to be at 9:30 but they did not take him back until 10:45 (a little late). This time Mark was a little nervous so that made me a little nervous cause when he was first diagnosed they said if he did not seek treatment he only had about a 1 1/2 yrs and at about that time he ended up calling 911. Well they also said when he was first diagnosed that they gave him 3-5 yrs, well this June he hit is 5 yrs so we were hoping nothing major happened. When they took him back about 15 min later I hear over the sound system CODE BLUE/RED - it made my heart stop for just a min then I just had to tell myself it was not for Mark. Our room was just outside the nurses station so every time someone walked by I was hoping it was Mark. About 45 min later the Dr. came in and said all was fine. YEAH!!!!!!! With Mark having such a low blood clotting factor he needed to stay flat for about 3 hrs. They walked him, gave him lunch, walked him some more and no extra bleeding or oozing so they let us go. The funny thing is on the way home we were listening to 1079.5 the Mix and they said be caller 10 and you can win a movie so I asked Mark if he wanted me to call and he said yes - so a few trys later it rang and they said caller 5 try again so I did well it rang again and they said I was caller 10 and I won the movies "Push" and "Knowing" LOL I never win anything and this past year I have won 3 times on the Radio. LOL I guess the Lord loves me.

4th of July

Well just a little update on what is going on here.

On the 4th of July a few years back Justin had an accident with a sparkler - He burnt his eye he was very lucky nothing major. So since then we do not do sparklers here, well this year we decided to let them have some (Aunt and Neighbor), well you guessed it Justin got burned again! Only on his finger so nothing serious but I have now decided NO MORE SPARKLERS!!! LOL

Today I had a meeting for work and the way they were talking I was for sure I was getting laid off - well they did lay off 40 people and luckily I still have a job. THANK GOODNESS!!!

Mark goes in tomorrow for a right heart cath - I will post about that later.

Update

Well if you have noticed I have done some back postings for history sake. We are doing well here.

If you have read any of my last few blogs you know Mark's health hit a down point. This year we were supposed to go to Yellowstone with Mark's family. Well about a couple of weeks prior to Mark going to the Hospital he asked me if I would feel bad if we did not go to Yellowstone cause he was not having good feelings about it. So we decided we would really think and pray about it, well a couple of weeks later he lands in the Hospital and then we knew we were not going to Yellowstone. When we got home from the Hospital we started looking into where the nearest Medical care would be and it was about 1 hr away. So needless to say we told his family we were not going to Yellowstone - BUMMER!!! but they all understood why we decided not to go. I write this because this is the week we would be in Yellowstone in fact we would just be getting home today. I am sad we were not able to go but I know we made the correct decision.

Well tonight I FINALLY got to mow my lawn - it has been about 3 weeks since the last time I did it. Every time I had time to mow it would rain - oh well. So my parents come out to help me with the lawn - THEY ARE THE BEST!!!! I am mowing and Jarod was riding his bike and he pulled up to the house and he did not look right and I asked him what was wrong and he said he did not know he had a pain in his upper back and it hurt so we took off his shirt and found out he got stung by a bee!!! Poor kid I felt bad for him. It did start to swell but we washed it and got some aloe vera on it and by the time he went to bed it was hardly red and you could just barely see the puncture point. Thank goodness. Grateful for the little things in life.

LaJolla

We left for LaJolla on Friday May 15th and I could not wait to RELAX. When we got there me, my mom and my sister Sheri we went and got a wonderful pedicure. A few years ago we found this cute little place up the street from where we stay and now it is a tradition to go and get pedicures the first day we get there so our toes look pretty for the ocean. We stay in a place just across the street from the cove in LaJolla, we have been staying in this place for many many years. My grandparents and parents found in when I was just little. WE LOVE IT!!!! We don't do anything really while we are there we mainly just relax, visit the ocean, seal beach, the pool and just go for walks. There are little shops just up the street that we shop in. This year there was a new candy store that we went to a couple of times, it had candy from when I was little, It was a fun place. Last year we found a mall and we decided to go again this year. While the girls were doing some shopping my dad took Jarod and Justin outside to this place for kids to play, well while he was sitting there his wallet fell out of his pants and he did not know it and he came back into the store to see if we were done, when we came back outside this guy came up to us and asked my dad if his name was Kent and he said yes well this guy said here you dropped your wallet. OH MAN!!! my dad sure was lucky that such an honest guy found it. It was a good lesson for the boys to see cause later that night Jarod came up to me and said "that guy sure was nice to give grandpa back his wallet."

It was a fast trip we came home on Tuesday the 19th, but we had a great time, I hate to leave once I am there. I can't wait to go back next year.

Flu / Fluke Family

O.K. so on May 12th I started not to feel so good and then the next morning I was not doing to much better but of course I had to go into work that day. I got to work at 7:00 by 8:00 I had drank almost 64 oz of water and was still thirsty and I was freezing, I had my jacket on and a blanket wrapped around me. I was shaking soooo bad Icould not take it anymore so I left work at 8:30 and went to the Insta Care. When I got in I had a fever of 103.3 and they said I had flu like symptoms, so they ran a strep test - can back negative then they did the flu test to make sure it was not the swine flu - OH MY OUCH!!! they take a long q-tip and shove it up your nose, I started to lean back cause it hurt and the nurse took the back of my head so I could not move and kept going - I could feel and hear my nose cracking as it kept going. After she took it out I just started crying cause I was upset - we are leaving for LaJolla in 2 days. Of course all those tests came out negative. So I went home and slept the rest of the day. My fever broke later that night and the next morning you guessed it I was just fine no fever no symptoms!!! So I have decided to label our family as the Fluke Family. Mark gets a blood clot and I get the flu - I have NEVER had the flu. So I guess that this a good thing that I did not have the flu.

ER / Hospital

Well as most of you already know (I am behind on blogging) Mark had a ER / Hospital visit on May 3rd. He woke up at about 5:15 a.m. and he was bleeding from him clave in his line. We called his nurse and she said to call 911 and get him to the ER but Mark said oh just take me then he stood up walked a couple of steps and decided calling 911 would be a good thing to do. I called them and got the kids ready to go and stay with my parents. While waiting for the ambulance Justin asked Mark if he was going to die and Jarod told him "HE IS DYING" in a very sarcastic tone. I had to tell them that Mark was not going to die, but in the back of my mind I was not too sure. This time for some reason it was unsettling to me.

Well we get to the ER and run every test and they said to Mark that he had a blood clot in his line and they need to try and get it to break free. Well I find this very amusing since THIS MAN'S BLOOD DOSE NOT CLOT!!! They took us up to the RICU (respiratory intensive care unit) and said we would more than likely stay the night and do surgery in the morning to replace his line if the clot would not break. So around 3:00 I decided to go home and get some stuff so Mark could spend the night since it was not looking good. Well I get home and just about to go back to the Hospital when Mark calls and says the clot broke. YEAH!!!! So I was able to go back and only have to spend a few more hours then I could take him home.

So far so good.

David Archuletta

DAVID ARCHULETTA

We had so much fun!!! As we got there they just opened the doors and let me tell you the girls started screaming. WHATEVER!!! Are seats were not too bad. I was talking to one of the Security Guards and I asked him what time the concert ended and he said about 11:00 and I was surprised and he told me David would not be coming on until about 9:30 - there were two other acts first. They were not too bad. As we were walking Jarod found $3.00 and I asked him if he wanted to turn it in (trying to teach him options and what is right) he said he wanted to keep it but he would turn it in. As we were walking down to turn it into Guest Services some guy stopped us that was selling Ice Cream and said he had to give some away and asked if we wanted any, Jarod took some. We were talking and we said when you do the right think you get blessings. When we got to Guest Services I told them what was going on and Jarod said he wanted to turn the money in and they told him how wonderful they thought he was for doing the right thing and at the end of the night if no one claimed it he could have the money. Right before David came out the crowd started to chant David's name and it started getting loud and I did not think anything about it. Well when he came out - OH MY GOSH!!! it was sooooo loud. Jarod made it through the first song then sat on the steps (luckily we had the end of the row) and was plugging his ears. He then came back and sat back in his seat for the next couple of songs - I looked over and he looked miserable so we went out and got some earplugs for him and with that he made it through a few more songs. I decided if he was not having any fun it was not worth staying so I asked him if he wanted to leave and he said no - then a few minutes later he said it was just too loud for him and asked if we could go, and I told him we could. So we went back and no one claimed the money so Jarod was able to keep his $3.00. As we were leaving he said to me that he had fun with me at the concert. That made my night.

Update

O.K. the Dr.'s office called and said Jarod's tests all came back normal so now we are going to wait until next week when he has his well care visit and see what they say to do. We have not heard the "CLINK" with Justin but we are sure it has passed - Hopefully.

I have put on a couple of new pictures of us from our Scouts Blue and Gold Banquet - It was a cowboy theme. We had a great time.

POOP!!! Here we go again

OK a couple blogs ago I said not much has happened around here - well I will NEVER say that again.

As you know we had to get a stool sample for Jarod well Wednesday the Dr's office called and said that the lab ran the wrong test - AARGGGGGGG!!!! So we had to go to the Hospital and get another sample kit and wait for you know the yuck yuck - Friday he did his duty we collected and Mark took it to the Hospital and that was a chore in itself - he had to go to the lab and they made him go down to admitting then back to the lab so by the end of all this needless to say Mark was very tired. So we do not have an update on him.

On Thursday Justin was playing with his magnetics set and then sat down with Mark to watch some cartoons - I was working and then I heard a gag then some crying I jumped up and asked what happened and Justin told us he swallowed one of the metal balls!!!! That's my toad. I called the Dr.'s office and asked them do we just wait until it comes out the other end??? They said with a child of his age it is best to go and get an X-Ray - so we took off to the Insta-Care and waited for just over an hr. which at the time we were not happy with but it turned out to be a good thing cause by the time we got the X-Ray done the ball had passed through to the intestines and it is now on its way out!! The X-Ray is to the side so if you want to see what about $500.00 looks like, hopefully it won't be that much. So we now get to check out his movements to see if we can see the ball. FUN FOR US. It has been a pooper of a week - LOL LOL - Now that's funny.

Have a great Valentines

Hello all,

I have not posted anything for awhile but not much has been going on here.

The last couple of weekends Jarod has been getting sick. He gets up Sunday Night / Monday Morning throwing up. We have asked him if it has something to do with school and he has said no, that he likes school. My mom said she got a letter in the mail saying a batch of her crackers she bought was infected with salmonella (hope that is spelled correctly) so after the 3 time of him doing this we called the doctor and told them what was going on and if this salmonella could have any lasting effects on the body and they are not too sure so they said to have him checked out. So far so good but they said they wanted to do a stool sample just to see if there is anything in his system. Well that was last Monday and I went to work on Wednesday and low and behold I get a phone call from Mark saying he finally had a bowl movement. LOL LOL LOL so Mark had to gather the sample and take it to the lab. Man did I pick a great day to go to work. We have not heard back from the labs so I will keep you all posted.

January

I have not posted in awhile but nothing much has been going on - in our case I guess that is good. Mark has a Dr. Apt. to check on his Diabetes this week we will keep you posted on if anything changes - so far he is doing O.K.

This was a good weekend I am TRYING to start up again going to the Temple on Fridays and I finally went on Friday for the first time in a few months and it was really nice - what away to start off your weekend. On Friday we were able to go and see some friends we have not seen in a long time and on Saturday we able to get together with my family, an uncle and my cousin and her husband - he is waiting for a new heart - so it has been hard to get together with them - cause he is not always in good health. So we understand that one!!!!! Mark and I took the kids to see "Bedtime Stories" it is a cute show and it is good family show so I recommend it. Like you need my approval!!!! LOL. Sunday we started watching the playoffs for the Super Bowl - We are excited to have the Super Bowl coming up in a couple of weeks - I do not care who plays I just love to go to my mom's and have lots of good food. We mainly watch for the commercials and I am hoping they are better this year cause in the past couple of years we have been disappointed cause they have been lame. That is all for now take care.

2009

The new year has started off pretty good - New Years Eve we just hung out at home it was nice - New Years Day we went shooting with Mark's family and we had a great time. Then on Saturday stayed at home got some things taken care and I went with some friends and saw Twilight - I really liked it - it was cheesy but I have to say I laughed alot. Later that night we went and played games with friends and had a great time. I hope this is a sign of good things to come this year.
